Employer Terms of Service

As a subscribing Employer participating in discoverED, You are granted full and unlimited use of all aspects of The Program. We encourage You to explore, use and comment on what is available to You. Below We have laid out the terms of use that shall govern all members of the business community, such to provide a positive and effective environment. This information not only serves as a regulatory device, but also a bit of instruction and recommendation in making sure all of Our users understand the services offered to them.

As a general rule, discoverED, its content and its features have been created to provide You with a helpful service and as such, we ask that You respect The Application and all of its users.

By making use of The Site and the discoverED application, You fully agree and consent to this agreement and all regulations and information contained herein. This agreement is subject to change and Your continued use provides consent to this.

Glossary of terms

The terms defined below will be used throughout the extent of this document. Some of the terms will be used interchangeably in the manner described.

discoverED – hereafter referred to as any or all of the following; “discoverED,” “The Application,” “The Site,” “The Program,” makes reference to all portions of the discoverED application, its website and all online or offline content related to it.

Student Member – hereafter referred to as any or all of the following; “Student User,” “Alumni User,” “The Student,” “They/Them,” makes reference to the student community of discoverED.

Next Development, LLC. – hereafter referred to as any or all of the following; “The Provider,” “Next Development,” “We,” “Us,” makes reference to the business entity that provides the discoverED service to The User.

Business Member – hereafter referred to as any or all of the following; “You,” “Your Business/Company,” “Business Member,” “Employer,” “Business Community,” makes reference to You, the business user, that makes available jobs and internships to Students and has access to Student provided information for employee scouting purposes.

Consent by participation

Your ability to use discoverED is made possible by your acceptance of these Terms of Use and creates an agreement between Your Business and Next Development. Any and all portions of discoverED can be left blank, empty, or unused. By making use of anything offered to you through The Program, You recognize Your voluntary participation and You consent to this user agreement. We built discoverED around use-based inclusionary principals, so that in the case You decide You do not want to make use of discoverED or include certain information, You simply have to do just that, not make use of it.

E-mail policy

In order to ensure the quality of the discoverED community and the jobs contained within The Application, we require that You register Your account with a valid business e-mail address. What we mean by a valid business e-mail address is a non-free e-mail account that is controlled by Your business and not an outside source. i.e. no G-mail, Yahoo!, Hotmail, etc. type accounts. Why you may ask? There are plenty of scam business opportunities out there and we are going to do everything in our power to prevent them from finding there way into discoverED. This site and the discoverED application are a medium

The discoverED application and The Site that facilitates its use are a medium through which The User has the ability to exchange information, post jobs, and scout Student Users as potential job candidates. Being that this is merely a platform for this exchange to take place, we make no claims, warranties, or guarantees about Your use and any outcomes resultant of Your use of The Application.

Types of jobs you may NOT post

Much like our e-mail policy, we are limiting the types of jobs that may be posted through discoverED to ensure a high level of quality and legitimacy. As such, you may not post:

  • Work from home opportunities
  • Jobs that require The User to make investments
  • Positions with deferred pay

In plain terms, don’t post jobs that aren’t legit. If we are notified of, or come across these types of job posts, we will delete them and suspend your account immediately. Jobs like this cloud view of real opportunities and hinder successful operation.

Information accuracy and reliability

The Application provides You with a set of tools and features that allow You to input, store, distribute, and assess various forms of data and information. All data and information and its respective accuracy remains the sole responsibility of The User. Next Development, LLC. will not be responsible for data errors and inaccuracies. We recommend that You periodically check information that has been entered to ensure its validity. Error correction must be the responsibility of The User because for Your privacy, We do not have access to data contained within Your account.

Information sharing

Student Users have the ability to access your discoverED profile in order to better help Them understand more about Your Business and jobs You have available. They can view Your tags, Your Business name, Location, and contact information consistent with Your profile and job posts. All of our Student Users are registered members of the discoverED community and Their school must secure a contract with Next Development prior to being allowed access to this information, so rest assured that Your information is in safe hands. As a general rule, please refer to our privacy policy for concerns about Our general information protection policies.

Making use of Student User information

discoverED makes available to You all members of our Student User community and a select amount of information about each individual Student. Any and all Student User information available to You through discoverED is confidential information to remain private between You and the Student. You shall not distribute, share, or discuss any information pertaining to Student Users with anyone other than Employees of Your Company that participate in the interviewing or hiring process and require this information.

Interaction between parties involved

Interaction between Student/Alumni Users and Business Members is the responsibility of both sets of users involved, not Next Development. Next Development, LLC. maintains no responsibility for, and makes no claims about the outcome, safety, success, and quality of the results of interviews and/or potential internship or job attainment facilitated through discoverED. Much of this interaction will take place outside of The Application and as such is out of the control of Next Development, LLC.

Liability of Next Development

You agree to hold harmless Next Development from any claims or damages resultant of Your use of discoverED. You agree never to hold Next Development liable for any matter pertaining to Your use of discoverED that is not a result of gross negligence on Our part.

Only for legal and ethical use

Any use of discoverED for reasons other than job posting or employee scouting that conflict with any laws or general ethical standards is strictly prohibited. Such use will be governed by laws of the State of Maryland and the United States of America. Any such use will also result in immediate suspension of your account and may result in legal action.
